I Am Ironman…

I get by with a little help from my friends. ~ The Beatles Lately, life has had me feeling kinda funky, and not in a 70’s disco-era-cool kinda way.  I don’t think I am alone in this; I believe that we all ride the wave of “funk” every now and again… you know – it’s called “life”.  In life, we have very few certainties…. We live, we breathe, we interact with people on some level, we must take in sustenance, and eventually we die.  Everything else is not a certainty; they are gifts we have that may not be permanent.   Sight, mobility, strength, health, companionship,...

Reality

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.  ~Albert Einstein It is what it is. ~ Angie Swafford I had a very unusual, wonderful, unexpected, crazy, confusing, disenchanting, uplifting, inspiring, completely SURREAL Memorial Day weekend… and I am sure that you all know exactly what I mean.  Life is each and every one of those things on any given day.  But this weekend, I got to par-tay with a bunch of teenage girls – including my beautiful daughter Blakelee – and some very, very good friends who are, at this point, mi familia.  (And for a girl who doesn’t...

Is it measured in longevity? Is it measured on what we “get” out of it? Or is it measured by pure emotion? As a...

Bride Saves the Day…in her wedding gown?

(Girl pictured is not Georgette) CBSNews:   Georgette Fogarty-Clemons was heading home from her wedding Sunday evening, looking forward to relaxing with a few friends. Her friend was driving slowly because they had some leftover cake in the car, along with hydrangeas and lilies still in water. That’s when Fogarty-Clemons spotted smoke from the side of her neighbor’s house in Bridgeport and told her friend to back up and stop. Still in her wedding gown and high heels, Fogarty-Clemons jumped out of the car. “I stepped right into a pile of mud,” Fogarty-Clemons said....
