Help

Learn to see less of yourself and more of others; Let others see God in your actions.

In a world full of busy-ness, we tend to take the path of least resistance.  We do what is easy, because there are so many things we need to do.  What we often forget in all of this is that anything of value requires hard work, patience, and commitment.

Now saying that does not make it easier to reconcile; we are human and we want what we want and we want it NOW.  However, there are timing issues, relational issues and moral issues involved with every decision we make.  And when we only take ourselves into consideration, we get very impatient and wonder why things aren’t happening for us on our own personal timetable.  We tend to forget, or some of us decide not to acknowledge, that God has His own timetable that works for our benefit and for His purpose.  And once we start taking in the whole picture and consider others and their wants and needs in our decisions, we stop focusing so much on our own desires and more on the needs of others.  I believe that is when change occurs.

When we start to do for others the things we do for ourselves, our perspective begins to change.  We begin to think more selflessly; we begin to worry less; we begin to serve more.  Yet more importantly, helping each other is what God truly wants us to do; In helping others selflessly and without an agenda, people begin to see God’s love shining through us, which is the greatest success of all.  I Thessalonians 5:11 reminds us to, “Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”  By taking the time to consider others, we are allowing God’s work to be done in amazing ways, and our own lives will never go untouched when God is at work.

Who is God asking you to consider?

Catch you on the flip side,

Ang

I was browsing tonight, unsure of what I was looking for, but knew that I needed help with my finances, and your site just popped up. (Divine intervention, or what!)
